If you are planning on starting your own home based business, then you may find that you have to borrow some money either for start up capitol or to live on while your business is getting off the ground ad starts bring in some money.

If this is the case then you will want to know whats my credit score and make sure that you are in good shape before you go out to apply for that loan.  It is probably best if you get a tri merge credit report so you will know what your credit items and rating is with all three credit bureaus.  Even if a lender just pulls your credit from just one bureau you don’t necessarily know which one that is going to be.

All creditors do not always report to all three credit bureaus so your credit file and therefore credit scores will be different with each credit reporting agency.

If you work from home then part of your equipment is probably a laptop.  And if you work from home you might very well be limited on funds and make this purchase one of those things that you put off until you just have to upgrade.

If you have a website you need to understand and study the source of your traffic.  There are a number of good paid methods to track this information.  But, if you are just starting out then paid anything is not necessarily in your budget.

I have used for sometime now a website that has a free and paid service which helps you track your traffic.  The site is: http://www.hittail.com (Note there is no ‘s’ on hittail).

You can track up to 5 URLs for free.  You will be able to see the source of your traffic, if it came from google search, yahoo search, google images search, your articles, etc.  On searches you will be given the keyword used in the search to reach your site.

Hittail also provides a keyword suggestion feature that will be helpful in adding to your keyword list.

At the time of this post, the free version has a limit of 100,000 visits a month.  Check the site for the specifics at the time you sign up.

This is a good free tool when you are first starting out and still have a lot to learn.  It will give you some good information at no cost and as you learn more, need more and have started making money you can graduate to a paid version;  either Hittail or some other product.
